B. Lloyd- She All Mine (ft. Bobby Valentino)

You may know Brandon Lloyd (B. Lloyd) as a WR from his days at the University of Illinois and in the NFL playing for the 49ers & Bears among other teams. Turns out B. Lloyd is an aspiring rapper, and he showcases some nice flow on his 1st single w/ respected R&B singer, Bobby Valentino on the hook! I always find tracks by athletes very interesting, doubling as a big sports fan, and while most of them are below average, I think I might be bumpin’ this B. Lloyd / Bobby Valentino track well into the near future! Check out more info on B. Lloyd and the track below and check him out on MySpace HERE

-It is not often that a person has the opportunity to have, and fulfill, 2 separate and distinct career dreams but Brandon Lloyd aka B. Lloyd (if ya nasty) may just be one of them. Now a Wide Receiver for the Chicago Bears, Brandon Lloyd, who knew he wanted to be in the NFL since kindergarten, was a 4th round draft pick to the San Francisco 49ers back in 2003 and also played for the Washington Redskins before finding his home in Chicago. Living out a career as a pro athlete might have been enough for most but Brandon’s musical alter ego, who fell in love with Hip Hop after hearing Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s Nightmare on My Street, also wanted to make music of his own.

A phone call to his agent by Still Hustlin’ Records owner and fellow artist and long-time friend, Renegade Foxxx gave B. Lloyd the label home, and the shot, he was looking for. With a first single that features the old school crooning of Bobby Valentino called “She All Mine” that is making all the right moves at radio (Corpus Christi, Lexington, Shreveport, Jackson, Baton Rouge, Gainsville, Tulsa, Biloxi, Augusta et al), it seems that Brandon has every chance of pulling off a career with his 2nd love. She All Mine is B. Lloyd’s musical reflection back on the dating escapades of he and his wife and he wrote it while the two were vacationing together.

“She All Mine is about a man who feels that his relationship with his lady is about more than the lovemaking.” he shares. “I knew Bobby Valentino’s voice would be a perfect fit for the song and he blessed me by being willing to grace the song of an up-and-coming artist. Not everyone is willing to do that.”

What drives this young man to not only pursue with equal fervor 2 very challenging career paths, but to offer himself up to the derision that often accompanies sports figures who try to break into music? The youngest of 7 children, Brandon Lloyd gives all of the credit for his incredible drive to his parents.

“I knew I wanted to be in the NFL when I was in kindergarten.” Brandon remembers. “I once got sent to the principle’s office for saying I wanted to be a professional football player in class when the teacher asked us all what we wanted to be when we grew up. The teacher said it was an ‘unrealistic goal.’ My Mom and Dad had always told me I could do anything I wanted. Just give it 100% and I can attain it.”

From where Brandon Lloyd is sitting right now, it looks like they might just be right.

LL Cool J- Exit 13 Album Review

Photobucket

LL really displays his lyricism and versatility on this album and keeps your attention throughout. He asked for live instrumentation for the production of the album, which adds an intense feel. LL constantly noted that he put a lot of hard work and determination on this upcoming project. He turned down eight movies to do so. Eight movies! The music proves it. All in all, “Exit 13″ is good album. It’s a good mixture of style from song to song. Something to look forward to in the fall. “You Better Watch Me,” “Ringtone Murder” and “We Rollin” are some standout tracks. Here’s the track list and brief breakdown for each individual joint.

“Intro/It’s Time For War” - Strong beginning. Choir singing, soldier marching, theme feel. LL goes in on this one.

“Old School New School” - Ryan Leslie on production, epic, glorious, feel.

“Feel My Heart Beat” (ft. 50 Cent) - Swagger track, drums on point, J-Kwon flow on “Tipsy.”

“Get Over Here” (ft. Nicolette, Jiz, Lyrikal, Ticky Diamonds) - Features his upcoming artist Nicolette, nice flow from LL.

“Baby” (ft. The Dream) - Radio single.

“You Better Watch Me” - Production by Marley Marl, one of my favorite tracks off the album, laced with “Get Money” and “Where Da Cash At” drums, 90’s hard feel.

“Cry” - N/A.

“Baby Rock Remix” (ft. Richie Sambora) - Decent track, not really feeling this as much, commercial sound.

“Rocking With The Goat” - Head nodder, produced by DJ Scratch, drums knockin’.

“This Is Ringtone Murder” - Another one of my favorite joints on the album, retro, b-boy feel, LL really airs out is opinion on upcoming artists. Ringtone murder!

“Like A Radio” - Production by Ryan Leslie who is also on the hook, possible single.

“I Fall In Love” (ft. Elan of The Dey) - Song for the girls, bollywood sample, Timbo style, dance track.

“You’re Only A Customer” - Decent track, horns etc., didn’t keep my attention.

“Mr. President” (ft. Wyclef Jean) - Self explanatory, letter to the president, nice production, Wyclef on the hook.

“American Girl” - Marching band feel, comparing historic events to females, creative.

“Speedin’ On Da Highway” (ft. Funkmaster Flex) - Didn’t play track.

“Come And Party With Me” (ft. Fat Joe, Sheek Louch) - Hard clashing with party feel, 50ish.

“We Rollin’” - Ride out track, reclined seat music, another one of my favorite joints.

“Outro/Dear Hip-Hop” - Ode to Hip-Hop, reminiscing on the old state of Hip-Hop.

News: Chamillionaire Gets Raw, In Mixtape Monday

Photobucket

via MTV:

King Koopa isn't going to stop with just three. Chamillionaire's Mixtape Messiah 4 will arrive on August 27.

"I think the other ones are so critically acclaimed by fans, I wanna keep that competiveness up with myself," he told us in Houston, where he was waiting to record a freestyle with Killer Mike. "They'll compare this one to the other Mixtape Messiahs. Mixtape Messiah 1 is probably my biggest one thus far. It came out of nowhere. At that time, I had the beef with Mike Jones, and it was a triple-disc CD. Nobody did that. It was real shock value. I'm gonna keep on competing with myself. I might not drop a triple disc; it's a double disc this time. But it's two CDs full of nothing but new material."

Koopa describes this CD as a return to full-throttle rawness with hard punch lines.

"Sometimes I say punch lines to myself and be like, 'This punch line is trying a little too hard,' " he said. "But I know my fans like that. So I'mma give it to them. A lot of fans that like me, like me because I used to take whoever's beat was hot and even beats that weren't hot, that were classic. Let's get it."

You'll be able to get a hard copy of this mixtape in the streets, unlike the last MM.

"I released a part three not too long ago," the Houston native said. "We did the digital [release]. A lot of people were hesitant to put out music a little while ago in the mixtape game. I seen a lot of DJs stop dropping mixtapes. I put mine out online for free. I think it says a lot, though, when you're taking the time to press it up and doing the actual CD. It needs to be physically in the street and hit them nooks and crannies. There's spots where the big artists don't go, but that's where I'm gonna go. We gonna start off slow and go with it."

But fans won't get too long to let this CD marinate, because Mixtape Messiah 5 is coming soon. Chamillionaire has been talking to a slew of DJs — from Drama to Cannon to Whoo Kid — about possibly collaborating with them on the next tape.

Then he'll drop his third album.

"I been working on it for a minute, since The Ultimate Victory," the Grammy winner revealed. "That's crazy, because a lot of my fans think I been on vacation."

Chamillionaire has over 30 records in the can for the still-untitled official project.

Joints To Check For

"Roll Call Reloaded." "On a couple of the other Mixtape Messiah records, I did a roll call, and it's a fire drill of all the other rappers," he said. "I call it a fire drill because we run down a list of everybody that's hot, and I'm gonna exactly rap their styles just to be creative. I start off with Jeezy, then I do Jim Jones, I do Rich Boy, Game, Jay-Z. I do E-40, Lil Weezy, Rick Ross. I had to cut the record because I did a whole bunch of people. I took a B.G. beat and just repped that. This is just one thing to show creativity."

"Internet Nerd's Revenge." "The online thing is real big right now," Cham said. "Even though I'm dropping this in the streets ... I see rappers online, and it matters what's said online. You go to MTVNews.com and see what they saying on Mixtape Monday. Fans complain about everything. They complain about Weezy when he does right, when he do wrong. Same thing with Kanye and everybody. Me and my boys went to all these Web sites, and we took a whole list of everything everybody said bad about Chamillionaire. I did a rap like I'm the person sitting at the computer typing and saying bad stuff about Chamilllionaire. It's some little kid that's on the Internet. He's young; he's getting all this stuff he's saying about me. His mother comes in and asks him, 'Did you take your medication? Are you on those porno sites again?' I'm rapping like I'm him in his voice."

"Go Hard." "I heard this beat that the Clipse did," Chamillionaire told us. "I don't know what album it's on. I really mess with the Clipse too. I remember saying, 'Who did this beat?' It was just knocking. I told my DJ to send the instrumental and said, 'I'm about to rip this.' No purpose, just a whole bunch of punch lines, bringing a little aggressiveness to the mixtape. People might have seen me in my last video dressed like a white man, they might have got it twisted. We're bringing it back to the streets."

News- T.I. Speaks On S.L.U. Leak & Chamillionaire on Internet Nerds Revenge

Photobucket

“That’s some bullshit,” a disappointed Tip told MTV News Saturday afternoon (August 23) via phone. “I’m beating down the Internet as we speak.”

The MC — who will perform a song from Paper Trail at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 7 — obviously isn’t upset with how well “Swagger Like Us” (or “S.L.U.”) turned out or even the immediate positive reaction it’s gotten. He just had planned on presenting his song properly rather than having it just thrown out there. He said it could have been “that much bigger” if he’d had the chance to roll it out in grand fashion.

“Don’t ruin the event,” he lamented. “Wait till the cake comes out the kitchen before you eat it. That’s like a kid who sees his toys before Christmas; it takes away from me and I think it takes away from the fans as well. When it’s time, I’mma give it to you. They leaked my record with me and The-Dream ["Like I Do"] too. Leakage is never a problem I have had. I’m not used to it.”

BONUS: Living My Life (ft. Rihanna)(Prod. By Just Blaze)

Photobucket

This is the last track you’ll hear before Cham drops his upcoming mixtape, Mixtape Messiah 4 on Wednesday. Here’s what he had to say about the song:

“Internet Nerd’s Revenge.” “The online thing is real big right now,” Cham said. “Even though I’m dropping this in the streets … I see rappers online, and it matters what’s said online. You go to MTVNews.com and see what they saying on Mixtape Monday. Fans complain about everything. They complain about Weezy when he does right, when he do wrong. Same thing with Kanye and everybody. News- Singer Issac Hayes Dies

wtf is goin on bernie mac just died yesterday nd now this...

Photobucket

Soul singer and arranger Isaac Hayes, who won Grammy awards and an Oscar for the theme from the 1971 action film "Shaft," has died, sheriff's officials in Memphis, Tennessee, reported Sunday.

Singer Issac Hayes seen performing in the U.K. last year. Hayes was found dead Sunday at age 65.

Relatives found Hayes, 65, unconscious in his home next to a still-running treadmill, said Steve Shular, a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

Paramedics attempted to revive him and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2 p.m., the sheriff's department said.

No foul play is suspected, the agency said in a written statement.

Hayes was a longtime songwriter and arranger for Stax Records in Memphis, playing in the studio's backup band and crafting tunes for artists such as Otis Redding and Sam and Dave in the 1960s. See photos of singer Isaac Hayes »

He released his first solo album in 1967, and his 1969 follow-up, "Hot Buttered Soul," became a platinum hit.

In 1971, the theme from "Shaft" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks and won an Academy Award for best original theme song. The song and the movie score also won Grammy awards for best original score and movie theme.

Hayes won a third Grammy for pop instrumental performance with the title track to his 1972 "Black Moses" album.

From the late 1990s through 2006, Hayes provided the voice of "Chef" for Comedy Central's raunchy animated series "South Park," as well as numerous songs.

The role introduced him to a new generation of fans, but he left after the show lampooned his own religion, the Church of Scientology

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

News- Bernie Mac DEAD?!?!?

“Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital,” his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles, California.

She said no other details were available and asked that his family’s privacy be respected.

Classic Throwback - Rakim

Lil Wayne borrowed some lyrics from this track for his verse on Lloyds song Girls Around The World. And I think 50 borrowed a bit of the begining of this song for an intro to Disco Inferno? Anyway my point is to the people who never got to experience classic hip-hop, without legends like Rakim, your favourite artist would be a nobody.

For the haters:

And that was called recycling
Or rereciting
Something cause you just like it
So you say it just like it.
Some say its biting
But i say its enlightning

Young Jeezy- The Recession (Review)

Photobucket

Amazing

Track had slow and steady kind of feel to it. A lot of bass with your typical Jeezy flow. Sounds kind of like a smoking song. Potential to be a club banger also.

Crazy World

Big time banger. Track had a very energetic feel to it. Faster, with a drum based beat. Eerie sort of background effects. Fave line - “I aint xbox so why you niggas tryin' to play with me (no homo).” *Obese’s favorite track
SIDE NOTE: Thanks to Jeezy for releasing this today! Click the track name to listen/download!

Dolla’s Circulate

Track produced by DJ Cannon. Rumba style drum beat with a crazy bass guitar line mixed with a decent amount of horns. Quick paced Jeezy, with a sample in the hook that says "Dolla’s Circulate" during which the beat breaks down. It was a club/dance type of song that sounds like it had a Caribbean/Spanish influence.

??? - 4 Stars

No name for this track because the DJ doesn't announce it. Your average Jeezy track. Big evil 808 bass line with some double time cymbals. I thought there’s a possible Wayne sample in the chorus but once again the DJ messed that up.

Put On Remix

You know the deal. Crazy shit! Jay rides the hell out of the beat. Jeezy kills it with 2 new verse's. End of story. This is my favorite song. Don’t know why, but it never gets old no matter how many times I hear it.

Vacation

A slower paced track then the others. A piano, and big bass beat as is the case so far on most of the songs. Turned out to be a ride type song. DJ kept chopping it up and restarting. He's killing the sound on every track.

??? - 4 Stars

Hey yet again, the DJ forgets to say the name of the song. Track starts out with short bass notes then progresses into yet another big bass track. Jeezy rides the wheels off of it with lots of breaks, which he continues to rap over. I didn’t hear a hook just lots of breaks and lots of bass.

Welcome Back

Track had a dark orchestra intro that evolved into a fast paced rider music, with high pitched synth stabs. The DJ decides to only 30 seconds of the track. WTF!

Don’t Know You

Not too much to say about this one. Except, yep, another big bass track with a progressive synth. Track had sort of an uplifting sound to it like Trap Star.

??? 3 ½ Stars

And Yet another track the DJ figures the title of the track isn’t important. The beat has heavy bass just like every other song, with chimes and breakdowns. This is a song for the Ladies, and has a real dope hook. Don't know who is singing because DJ "fuck meat" didn't say. This has good single potential.

Put That On Everything

Big Time Banger Alert. Big bass line, double time snares on the beat pick ups. Sort of uplifting R&B hook behind Jeezy while he says "Put That On Everything". DJ "my legs need to be run over several times by a car" neglected to mention who was featured on the track so bear with my crude comparisons; “some high pitched dude that sounds like Boosie an some weird R&B singer that sounds like Kellz a little bit.”

??? - 3 ½ Stars

Another DJ Cannon produced track. Good thing this dude loves self promotion otherwise I wouldn't have known who produced any of the tracks since homie in the booth decides things are not important, like the name of this track. A sort of dance track with a Kanye sounding soulful beat when the sample hook comes in. Track had a little less bass then the others and had bongos. Possible single. Defiantly going to be a club song at the least. Another song with a sort of Caribbean/Spanish influence.

Get It Up

Last track we heard. Started out with horns. Big time anthem beat. Big bass following the pattern of the rest of the album with some double time cymbals thrown in. Featuring someone. I Couldn’t recognize voice, because the DJ didn't do his job and enlightened us to the details. Song is about hustlin' and just gettin' money in general.

Overall the album was sick. Not really a bad track on it. Jeezy really got back on top of his game to make an album that doesn’t stray from his style. A lot of bass and his patented, steady as a train flow, make this album what it is. I really enjoyed how he didn’t follow the pattern that many artists do these days and switch something up just to sell more records. Jeezy puts himself on, on this album, and I might add with only 3-4 guest appearances (that we heard). Remember we were in a strip club. The system was loud, the DJ didn't get what a listening session was, and there were a lot of people there talking. But we definitely tried to bring you at least some feel of what the album is going to be like. Overall "The Recession" received a 4 star rating on our points system. Now I can't wait to hear it in a quiet room, sober, with no DJ! Go cop that September 2nd!

News- Just What Is the 'Montauk Monster'?

yo wtf?!?!?!1

Could it be a devil dog? The mythical chupacabra? Perhaps it's just an unfortunate pug, raccoon or turtle. A photo of a strange creature lying dead on a Montauk, N.Y., beach, fuels Web-wide speculation and amusement. "It looked like nothing I'd ever seen before," Ryan O'Shea, one of the witnesses, told Newsday. "It looked like it died angry."

Photobucket

Montauk Monster: This otherworldly looking creature found on a New York beach July 13 has been called an alien, a science experiment gone bad, even "how I imagine Karl Rove looks on the inside." Some dismiss it as a decomposing pug or turtle without a shell.
